The UHS Corporate Advertising Department is hiring a Proofreader who specializes in proofreading all creative materials, including ads, brochures, newsletters, web pages, etc., to ensure error-free work.

Responsibilities include:
  • Checks for correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, format, size/specs, legal guidelines, and adherence to client style.
  • Receives materials from Management, Copywriters, Designers, Supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or assists with individual projects or elements of a campaign.
  • Reviews all materials generated by creative team at multiple stages of a job — copy drafts, printer proofs, final versions, etc. Proofreads other department documents as requested, such as proposals, presentations and press releases, and corporate materials.
Qualifications:
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional proofreading experience required.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to work within set, tight deadlines at maximum efficiency.
  • Must be highly flexible, organized, and able to juggle priorities and keep projects on schedule.
  • Knowledge of standard proofreading practices and procedures.
  • Familiarity with standard grammar and style guidebooks, such as the AP Style Guide.
  • Excellent command of the written English language.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software products.
