Primary Purpose of Position
The Live Events Producer serves as one of the producers for Charlotte Athletics video board shows and ESPN Digital Network Streams. The Live Events Producer is responsible for working alongside the broadcast production staff to ensure that productions are properly supported.
Coordination and assisting live event productions is the primary responsibility of the Live Events Producer. This position will assist with traditional production setup (setting up cameras, running cable, building broadcast booths, etc.,) while also serving as the producer/director for athletic events.

Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and completion of a two-year technical school program in electronics and two years of experience in medial technology; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for advancing the mission and values of the Charlotte 49ers Athletic Department by delivering the Charlotte 49ers brand through entertaining and informative programming.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of multiple aspects of a live production for athletic sporting events, which includes the creative, administrative, and operational sides of a live event or broadcast.
- Primarily focus on in-house video board productions and occasionally assist with live digital broadcasts.
- Serve in multiple roles for video board and live events productions.
- Developing workflows for efficiencies and the automation of tasks related to all venue displays.
- Responsible for upgrades and maintenance checks on all video board control systems and associated equipment in conjunction with other department technical staff.
Other Work Responsibilities
- Work closely with Athletic Marketing, Sports Properties, Broadcast, and Venue staff to ensure all video board content is properly displayed.
- Maintain current knowledge related to the latest developments in equipment and methods related to the broadcast production in relation to in venue programming.
- Provide training to departmental operators of various broadcast systems that support internal or external productions.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and evaluation of broadcast student staff and external contracted workers.
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- Degree in Videography, Communications, Broadcasting or other technical field and 12 months of industry experience in broadcasting or video production.
- Knowledge and experience with Video Board Technologies such as Daktronics Show Control, Ross XPression/Tessera and other video board content management solutions.
- Experience with broadcast equipment such as Broadcast Cameras, Video Switchers, Routers, Fiber Optic Cabling, Replay.
- Experience in directing in house videoboard content.
- Experience in producing live events for broadcast on ESPN Digital Network.
- Ability to communicate with groups both external and internal to successfully execute in venue productions.
